Hello!\u00a0 I guess I’ve really been slacking off on checking in.\u00a0 I hope everyone had a very nice Christmas!\u00a0 I certainly did.\u00a0 Christmas Day was spent with my dad, Gina, her sister Melissa (my Aunt Missy), Alexis and her fianc\u00e9 Bret.\u00a0 We had great food by the fire, played a game and chatted for a while.\u00a0 Yesterday I celebrated with my mother side of the family.\u00a0 Again, very good food, lots of talking and all of that good stuff!<\/p>\n
As unhappy as I am with how things have progressed, or haven’t for that matter, I need to remember where I was just a year ago.\u00a0 I remember spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my ex fianc\u00e9e, Jaime, and her family.\u00a0 It was a great time, but what a hassle.\u00a0 Not for myself, but for everyone else, especially her.\u00a0 It was a huge task just to load all of my equipment into the van.\u00a0 I was still dependent on oxygen, had my trach, ventilator and I could go on and on.\u00a0 I still can’t move my hands.\u00a0 I still can’t walk.\u00a0 I’m not where want to be, but I’m so much better than I was a year ago.\u00a0 I can breathe on my own, something I thought I would never take for granted.\u00a0 What a simple thing, I’m sure none of us, we ever think about losing.\u00a0 Life is tough.\u00a0 I’m not always the happiest person.\u00a0 I get down.\u00a0 I think most of that is to be expected.\u00a0 My life will never be the same but I’m certainly thankful for what I do have.\u00a0 The best family and friends anybody could ask for, an amazing group of people around me that are willing to give and do so much for myself and my family, generosity of people and businesses throughout Elizabethtown, Middletown and many many other places and I could go on and on.\u00a0 I just wanted to express my sincere thanks to anyone who has done anything for me since my accident, whether it was prayer, making a meal, stopping by to say hello, participating or helping with the fundraisers, donating money, etc.<\/p>\n
That’s it for now!\u00a0 I promise you I will try to check it more often.\u00a0 Please keep praying – I’m not walking yet!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
