Today was a pretty good day for Aaron.\u00a0 He was on the tilt table again\u00a0today during PT.\u00a0 He did very well;\u00a0on the\u00a0first “ride” the table was tilted so that he was nearly standing straight up and down.\u00a0 After he\u00a0was put back down into a horizontal position for a while, they tilted the table again.\u00a0\u00a0 This time he was a little less vertical than the first time, because his blood pressure started to drop and he felt dizzy.\u00a0 But the therapists said he did an excellent job.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Aaron was in his power wheelchair again today, but has not yet obtained his driver’s license, he is still on a permit.\u00a0 The therapists are still working on getting the headrest in the right position for him and the sensitivity adjusted.\u00a0 Sounds simple,\u00a0but it isn’t!\u00a0 It’s really difficult for them to get it so it is comfortable and easy (and safe) for Aaron to use.<\/p>\n
Aaron had a session today with a Recreational Therapist who was working with him to use\u00a0some voice recognition\u00a0software.\u00a0\u00a0 Not sure how that went, because I took this opportunity to leave and go grab some lunch and\u00a0when I returned, Aaron was MIA.\u00a0\u00a0When I finally found him,\u00a0\u00a0I was just so happy to see him, I totally forgot to ask how the session went!\u00a0 (They took him for a routine chest x-ray, but it took me awhile to find that out.\u00a0 That was sort of scary!)\u00a0<\/p>\n
Aaron\u00a0did about 40 minutes total today on the trach collar.\u00a0 While that is commendable, I’m getting a feeling\u00a0 that\u00a0his success on the collar\u00a0has something to do with Jaime’s presence……she seems to have a knack at calming him down or convincing him he can do it.\u00a0 He does so well when she is there with him\u00a0and not as well when I am with him.\u00a0 I try to cheer him on,\u00a0 I really do….but he KNOWS he only has to look at me with those puppy dog eyes and tell me he wants to stop and I’m running out the door looking for the respiratory therapist to come and remove the collar.\u00a0\u00a0 I know I’m not helping overall, but I can’t help myself!\u00a0 I’ll try to be stronger, I promise!<\/p>\n
Well, overall, Aaron had a good day.\u00a0 His spirits were great, he was alert and feeling well.\u00a0 Please say a prayer for continued healing.\u00a0 Aaron appreciates it and so do I (and the rest of his family).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
