We were told today that Aaron’s discharge from Magee will take place on November 6th.\u00a0 Our plan (up\u00a0until today) was for Aaron to go home to his Dad and Step-mom’s house upon discharge, BUT today we were thrown a curve; another option to consider,\u00a0a facility\u00a0that specializes in weaning patients from ventilators.\u00a0 There are several close\u00a0to home (Harrisburg, Lancaster, York) that we could consider if Aaron would choose to go that route.\u00a0 He would be admitted as an inpatient and would still receive physical therapy, however, it would not be to the same degree\u00a0 he gets now.\u00a0 Their main focus would be getting Aaron off of the vent, which is Aaron’s\u00a0primary goal right now.\u00a0 This is a new option for Aaron to\u00a0think about, as well as Jaime and the rest of his family.\u00a0\u00a0Life and rehabbing would be easier for Aaron (and everybody involved with his care) if he could lose that apparatus!!!\u00a0 So, stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated on Aaron’s next step in his journey!<\/p>\n
One more thing.\u00a0 Aaron and I were chatting this evening after he ate supper and we looked over at my husband, Sam, who (last time we looked)\u00a0was watching TV, to find him sound asleep in Aaron’s bed.\u00a0 I took a couple of pictures, because I knew when I eventually told Sam he’d been sleeping,\u00a0he’d deny it, as he ALWAYS does.\u00a0 I was correct, he did deny it.\u00a0 I have the pictures to prove \u00a0it and I told Aaron I was going to post one on his blog, so here it is.\u00a0 Just for you\u00a0 Aaron.\u00a0 And yes, he really was sound asleep…..doesn’t look too comfy.\u00a0 Who looks like that when they sleep?\u00a0\u00a0 Is that normal????<\/p>\n
