An AMAZING Friday!!!

Sorry I didn’t get this up last night!! Lots of traffic and got home pretty late and then struggled because I forgot my user name and password to log in this website. ANYWAYS, Aaron did TEN HOURS, thats right TEN HOURS off the vent yesterday!! And remained stable the entire time. He even requested to go to sleep off the vent but they wouldn’t let him do too much at once. Go ahead Aaron! He was a rockstar! He was a little tuckered out during his therapies, but woke up a little to hang out with his visitor John Pani. It was a great day! He went to sleep pretty early and wanted to wake up today and get off the vent again.

I hope all you are doing your best at the fundraiser today, sorry to say I won’t be there. I will be with Aaron, but we’re thinking of all you and on behalf of Aaron, thank you! I’ll be at the cafe next week, so I hope I get to meet all my new friends that I’ve established through this unfortunate time.

Keep Aaron in your prayers!! They’re working!!

    Hi Aaron,
I just wanted to tell you what an honor it was to be a part of your walk yesterday. I work with Jackie Lerch and she invited me to photograph your event. I had to fight back tears many times throughout the day, tears of happiness as I interacted with people who know you and love you so much, and people who didn’t personally know you but wanted to celebrate you. It was inspiring to me to see, that despite the rain, people where really making their own sunshine in your honor. I always tell my daughters that it is important to make this world a better place because you are a part of it…..You are an inspiration Aaron, along with your girlfriend:). We encourage you to keep believing, stay strong, we will all continue your journey with you….and I must say you are making a difference in the lives of many. Fondly, Shareen, Maddison, Gillian Burkhardt

    Aaron,

I was thrilled to hear you did 10 hours off the ventilator yesterday and hope you will soon be off it altogether. Shannon and I made it to the trail today without getting lost but unfortnately, on the way home she listened to me and we ended up going all the way to Elizabethtown and had to turn around. I am sure you aren’t surprised. HA HA! She was getting a blister from her Timberlands and was walking really funny on the trail when we were on our way back. You would have got a good laugh out of that one. It was great to see everyone there to support you. Take Care and keep working hard!! My thoughts and prayers are alway with you.

    Love,

    Carol

Although I attended the “walk” I ended up staying dry and a bit on the warm side by hanging out with your Mom, Aunts, and “Girl” in a car for the majority of the time, and I must say I had an awesome time. That was the first time I ever got the chance to really get to know your momma, and I now know where you get that awesome sense of humor of yours. They all had me crackin up!! I just sat there in admiration that even amongst this unfortunate event in your life, your family still remains so postive and they all have smiles on their faces. I get why you fight SO hard every day. You’re support system is unlike any other. All of you are inspiring!! I was having a pretty tough week until this morning, the optimism is contagious, and always remember you’re right in the middle of all of this. So I thank you because even though you physcially weren’t at the walk you’re amazing spirit came out in those that love you most. I’m really looking forward to the Fundraiser next week, and I can’t wait to meet the finance 😉 LOVE YOU Aaron Richard Wood, keep on keepin’ on.

And all of those who braved the rain and cold weather today, I think you’re awesome 🙂

    Hey Bro!

It was raining cats and dogs today at the trail but the sunshine was shining bright in the hearts of all who made it today. We had so much fun mingling and participating in all of the fun things planned for the day. Everyone pulled together and helped each other. We were truly ONE walking for you buddy because we all LOVE you SOOO much! Great job on the vent! I know you can do it and I know God is on your side. Keep relying on him and he’ll get you there. I love you!!!

Hey Bud! So many blessings!!!! The fact that you were off the vent 10 hours is number one, that Jaime posted it is another. Thanks for all the updates everyone, it really keeps us connected. The latest picture of you on the bike was another, you look good, strong, confident and actually happy and that made me happy.

Today and the walk were more! I did not want to walk in the rain and then I read your dad’s post…and I still didn’t want to do it. It was not only going to rain, but it was going to be cold…how was I going to do this???? I wanted to walk when the temperature went back up. lol I kept remembering what your dad said about you in his post…Will told me “remember this is for Aaron”..and that made it much easier and truly was the deciding factor. I want to thank you for the blessings I received today. If I wasn’t doing this for you, I wouldn’t have seen the Sembach family, especially dear sweet Paula and I got to meet Steve’s wife, for the first time. I wouldn’t have seen John Panni, who I haven’t seen in years. I saw Todd Huber, who I haven’t seen for a long time (sorry Todd couldn’t put your name with your face until after you walked by.) I was blessed to see your family and see them all supporting you. I got to see my son on the trail and even got a kiss… God took something I didn’t quite feel like doing and turned it completely around. I feel blessed to be blessing you. Love you, have a good day and a better one tomorrow!!!

  • Terry Garrett

Just got back from the trail. It was a little wet but it was worth it buddy. I think everyone we passed said Good morning or Hello. People I didn’t know. That’s because eveyone was there as ONE in support of you. I hope you felt the love that spanned that 5 mile trail even though you couldn’t be with us. You were with us in our heart and our prayers
