Golf Benefit Update

A new registration form for the Golf Benefit is available on the Golf Benefit page (see sidebar for link). Of course if you’ve already registered there is no need to register again.

Aaron did a great job of answering some of your questions about the benefit. If you were wondering what the “scramble” format is here’s the explanation that I was given. Each player hits their ball, then they choose the best ball, all go there and drop their balls, hit again, choose the best ball and so on until the ball is holed out. So long as you have one “good” golfer in your group you’re good to go. The prizes are “flighted” so you may win a flight without being the best group on the course. And if your group wins a prize, then all four players in the group win the prize. I asked what “flighted” meant and I still don’t understand the explanation, so if you really want to know, I suggest that you either ask a golfer or google it.

The scramble format promises to be a lot of fun, so even if you aren’t very good, form up a team anyway and as long as your team has at least one above average golfer you have a chance to win prizes…and there will a number of prizes awarded.

To reiterate some of the questions that Aaron answered:
– You CAN come to the dinner even if you don’t golf. It is $25 and includes a steak dinner, salad, a drink, and a dessert. The dinner will be served in the pavilion, and the people at Par Line are wonderful cooks. If you plan to attend just the dinner, please contact Anne or Pete (see the registration form).
– The raffle will be held after the dinner at approximately 6:45 p.m., but you don’t need to play golf or attend the dinner to participate. Again, to purchase raffle tickets ahead of time, please contact Anne or Pete. Raffle prizes include a bracelet, numerous golf clubs, and various gift certificates.
– There isn’t really a dress code. The golfers will most likely be eating dinner in the clothes they golfed in, i.e. t-shirts and shorts. Shoes are required.
– Spectators are permitted to watch from the area by the clubhouse near the tee-boxes of holes 1 and 10, and the greens of holes 9 and 18.

There are still slots available, so form a group today and prepare yourselves for a day of fun!

July 8, 2010 – successful people

Successful people:  1. Daydream about what it will feel like to reach a goal that is meaningful for them.  2. They feel it is possible for them to reach the goal with good effort.  3. They spend time listing and anticipating how they will handle diffi culties and problems that they may encounter.  4. They seek out experienced people and expert resources for guidance on how to succeed.

July 6, 2010 – School

Good evening everyone!

Sorry I haven’t posted anything within the past few days, but I’m extremely busy as I just started my college classes on Monday.  I’ll try to get something out soon but I’m not sure when.  These online courses are keeping me extremely busy.  I normally login around noon and work until 8:00 PM or so.

I hope everyone is doing well.  Enjoy the heat! 🙂

Half Marathon – September 12, 2010

Hello!

Leslie, my girlfriend, is running a half marathon this coming September to raise money for Aaron’s Journey.  She will not be running alone, as she’s getting a team together compiled of both friends and family!  She put together the following website for donations to be made – http://www.active.com/donate/aaronsjourney.

For anybody who doesn’t know, a half marathon is 13.1 miles.  I personally think she’s crazy for wanting to do this, but I also love her for it! 🙂  For anybody interested in helping her reach their goal, please click on the link.  Everybody else, please just wish them well!

Thanks again for everything,

Aaron

Thank you to everyone involved with Saturday’s yard sale.  Whether you donated items, bought items, just came to visit and say hello or helped set the whole thing up (my family), I greatly thank you!  You helped raise a little over $1200!!  That is beyond awesome!  I can’t thank you enough for the bottom of my heart.  I’m so lucky to be surrounded by family and friends who cares as much as they do.  Also a big thank you to Leslie for helping out and entertaining Betsy! 🙂

May 23, 2010

Hello!  Sorry it’s been so long since I last checked in.

Not too much is new.  I’ve been doing some therapy out on the mat, as well as the usual stimming and range of motion.  Other than that, it’s business as usual.

There was a fundraiser held last night at Lititz Grace, where my dad and Gina go to church.  They said it went very well, so thank you to everybody there who participated.  I greatly appreciate it!

That’s about it for now.  I’ll try to possibly do a video tomorrow!  Good night!

KKI Is looking for Foster and adoptive parents!

KKI, or Kennedy Krieger Institute, is looking for special people for special children and teens.  Please see the link below.  I realize many of you may not be able to take on such a task, but if you could pass this information along to someone you think might, it would be greatly appreciated!  Maybe even pass along this information to your church?  Just a thought.  Thanks for lease reading!
