Awake & fever free

Sorry for the lack of blogs lately. I am happy to report that Thursday was a good day. Aaron was more alert and fever free. He was able to participate in his therepy which included playing pinball using his shoulders to activate the flippers. I know that some of you will be disappointed because you like his new mountain man look, but he got a haircut yesterday and will be getting a shave on Monday (pictures to come). Don’t worry, in my unbiased opinion he is still a handsome fellow. He was able to eat solid (pureed) food for the first time. The feast included chicken, mashed potatoes, & zucchini. Aaron was not a big fan of the zucchini but did manage to eat a few bites of the others. The goal is to gradually move his sorce of nutrition from the bag food to real food.
We also had a meeting with his care management team. Among the many things that we discussed was his after Magee care and the vast expenses that are not covered by insurance. On that note please watch for info on this website concerning upcoming fundraisers on October 17th & 24th. It will be posted in the very near future. Thanks again for all of your support & keep the prayers coming.

We love you Aaron!

Glad to hear the fever went west(I think one of my maint.crew stole it from you) and REALLY good news on the solid food front. Food digestion is a complicated process and shows your’ body is hard at work puttin’ things right. Good News… Can’t imagine anyone out there not liking zucchini though, puree of otherwise. I guess I had better puree some up and try it after that statement though. Kay(my better half–born in England) is threatening to deep fry some fish in a good English ale batter tonight after I get off work tonight and she often will cut up some zucchini for me and prepare it in the same fashion. I will ask her to puree some so we can be on the same page. If it does’nt kill me, I will try to remember to report back upon this tommorrow…
Well, time to get ready for work. Try to kick Bills’ football hiney Aaron,

Hi Aaron… It’s good to hear that the fever is gone and you are eating some real food. Bill and I will be back in PA sometime in October. I know Bill is very anxious to get back to you and so am I. I love the east coast in the fall too, we don’t get that really pretty change of season here in the desert. Anyways, it will be good to get home to see you and be with family and everyone. Also, please know that Bill and I may be far in distance, but you are always close in our hearts and never far from our minds.

I read something the other day that said that HOPE is not just a belief, but it is an attitude… you keep that going and anything is possible! …and we’re standing behind you every step of the way.

We love you so much Aaron! ..beard or no beard, either way we love you!!!

I love hearing the positive news Aaron, keep it up. You are such an inspiration to so many people, including myself. I know you already know this, but you have an AMAZING support system behind you. We had a meeting for the cafe’s fundraiser and there were people there that I had no idea they were even coming! They were just there to volunteer their time to help with the event because they love and care about you! The outpouring of love shows that there are beautiful people still left out there in this crazy world, and you are in the center of all of it. Keep fighting, every day. Not an hour goes by where you don’t consume my thoughts.

“LIFE IS FRAGILE, BUT HOPE IS STRONG. ALL GOOD THINGS BEGIN WITH HOPE.” Believe in yourself, and you’re halfway there. We all believe in you! Love you so much Aaron!

    Aaron,
Bet it was nice to have a meal! I must say I’m sad to hear you shaved 🙁 You were quite a hottie with that beard, but I’m sure you still look awesome! Keep working hard, I’m still praying for you and cheering you on!

    Love you buddy!

    Aaron,
I am so grateful to hear you are fever free. I know that this is the toughest battle you’ve ever had to fight, I can’t even begin to know what it is like that you are going through, but you know that you are not alone. I read your posts and it just warms my heart. You will never be alone and I see the love of both of your parents, Jaime, family, extended family, friends and strangers. When your days are tough, just reach out and someone will always be there. Love you!!

    Aaron,

I think of and pray for you often throughout my days. Keep up the fight and continue to rely on your faith, family and friends who will help you along the way. The strength within yourself is so completely evident and is so very inspiring! Keep smiling and pushing through!

    Love, Kerry

Aaron, your family members (that includes Jaime) who visited with you yesterday were so uplifted by your increased attentiveness, that beautiful smile we hadn’t seen for a few days, and the fact that you were able to eat a meal (even if just a little bit). It’s great for us to be uplifted, but I want YOU to be uplifted by these things, too. Fight the fight, babe, and we’ll be behind you every step of the way, fighting it with you!

    Love you.
